3CORE offers small business loan opportunities for businesses unable to secure sufficient financing through traditional banking channels. This includes a Small Business Disaster Interruption Loan Program for businesses unable to access other Federal disaster programs. 3CORE also operates a Business Resource Liaison program to connect businesses to various resources based on specific needs.

Service Costs:
3CORE loan programs may be subject to loan fees and costs, these fees and costs can be financed.  Business services are available at no cost to businesses.

3CORE serves businesses in Butte, Glenn, and Tehama counties.

Eligibility Requirements:
Businesses applying for the Small Business Disaster Interruption Loan Program must have been affected by a disaster such as COVID-19, the Camp Fire, or PSPS.

Alliance for Workforce Development

Resources and Services:

Alliance for Workforce Development (AFWD) offers training assistance for existing workforce, and recruitment assistance for additional staffing needs. AFWD also has wage reimbursement available towards the cost of training newly hired employees.

AFWD offers these services at no cost to businesses.

Butte College - The Training Place

Resources and Services:

Butte College The Training Place provides workforce training and performance consulting based on needs. Programs include business communication, conflict resolution, change, coaching, MS office skills, lean efficiency for continuous improvement, managing virtual teams including facilitating zoom meetings, supervisor, and manager essential training along with diversity, equity, inclusion. Technical upskilling for manufacturing, job instruction, job relations, job safety and OSHA10 programs advance employee technical skills with hands on training.  Human resources programs for front line supervisors, managers and leaders including employee relations, labor law, and conducting performance reviews.  Training is delivered in-person at the Butte College Skyway Center, Glenn County Center, virtual and employer sites.

Service Costs:
Individual and group training cost can be located on the website. Private, nonprofit and government employers with employees who meet full time and wage eligibility requirements can apply for state training funds.

Butte County and Glenn County and their other California business locations. Statewide for virtual delivery services.

Eligibility Requirements:
There is no eligibility for training services.

Butte College Small Business Development Center

Butte College SBDC provides one-on-one business plan consulting for recovery and pivoting business models for success; financial projections and forecasting to access capital; planning and implementation for recovery; online marketing and website development to access customers; assistance with application process to access SBA loan programs; assistance with government contracting certification and process; business sustainability and success; and business and entrepreneurial trainings.

No Cost.  One-on-one Business Consulting; and low to no costs for some specialized trainings.

Chico Chamber of Commerce

The Chico Chamber provides information, networking opportunities, and visibility to businesses in the Chico and surrounding areas. Working closely with the City of Chico, the Chico Chamber advocates on behalf of, and acts as, the “voice of business” on important topics and legislature. The Chamber has a limited supply of disposable surgical masks, hand sanitizer and signage available to all businesses, regardless of membership status, at no cost.

Downtown Chico Business Association

Resources and Services

The Downtown Chico Business Association assists downtown businesses in navigating financial, legal, human resources, public health information and education, and local ordinances, policies and protocols. The DCBA also provides disposable masks, hand sanitizer, and signage to businesses at no cost. The DCBA can assist with the process of designating parking for curbside pick-up and creating temporary parklets for outdoor dining. The DCBA is also helping downtown businesses in creating an online presence and launching an online marketplace for all downtown businesses.

Downtown Oroville can design and print posters for windows to let customers know of current services and operating hours. Downtown Oroville is also offering social media assistance and promotion of downtown businesses through various media outlets.

The Gridley Area Chamber of Commerce is providing face masks, hand sanitizer, and signage to businesses at no cost. Gridley Chamber is also offering assistance with questions related to COVID-19 awareness and providing regular updates on the chamber’s social media pages. The Chamber office space is available if businesses need additional social distancing space. Gridley Chamber can also create flyers and post online when businesses re-open or have announcements.

The North State Planning and Development Collective at CSU, Chico offers technical assistance to businesses to aid in transitioning their business models as a result of COVID-19 with a particular emphasis on social media and web development, market demand and data analysis, policy and regulatory research, employee recruitment research, and more. All sectors are encouraged to inquire and will be matched with the appropriate program.

The Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce is providing face masks, hand sanitizer, and signage at no cost to businesses. PRCoC is providing information on financial tools, reopening guidelines,resources supporting remote work, and transitioning to online business models. PRCoC has upgraded their online business directory to optimize visibility and marketing potential for members and is promoting members and local organizations offering products or services to support reopening. PRCOC has also reopened the Ridge WorkSpace.
